The TimesPro Post Graduate Diploma in Banking Management (PGDBM) aims to equip learners with the relevant banking knowledge and skills required to be a productive resource in any organization.

Banking Program Subjects :

  • Introduction to Banking :
    The module provides insight into the banking sector, which is one of the largest employers in the country and has the potential to provide over 7,50,000 jobs in the course of the next five years.
  • Law and Practice of Banking :
    The module deals with the Constitution and Regulation of Banks, and the laws that impact banking operations, transactions and relationship with the stake-holders.
  • Accounting and Financial Mathematics for Bankers :
    This module covers accounting terminology, principles and concepts which revolve around the 4 key elements of accounting - assets, liabilities, income and expense.
  • Retail Banking :
    This module covers the set of services that a bank provides to the end consumer, which includes transactions like savings and current accounts, fixed deposits, recurring deposits, mortgages, personal loans, debit/credit cards, etc.
  • Business Banking :
    This module covers services that a bank provides to other institutions. Services include currency conversion, working capital financing, large trade transactions, etc.
  • NRI Banking :
    The NRI Banking module forms an important segment from a business point of view. NRIs earn foreign exchange which they can deposit in banks that are authorized by the RBI to accept such deposits. Due to the sheer volume of business, many banks have dedicated branches in locations where there is a high concentration of NRIs.
  • Wealth Management and Financial Planning :
    The wealth management module incorporates financial planning, investment portfolio management and a number of aggregated financial services.
  • New Age Banking :
    The module deals with distribution channel strategies used to deliver financial services outside the ambit of bank branches. These strategies help an existing bank branch network to offer customers alternate channels (such as the internet, mobile, etc.) through which they can access financial services.
  • Communication Skills :
    Communication skills are imparted to help students perform basic functions of management, i.e., planning, organizing, leading and controlling.
  • Sales and Relationship Management :
    This module helps learners improve their selling and relationship-building skills.
  • Essentials of Customer Service :
    The module involves understanding aspects such as speed and accuracy of back-end and front-end operations, understanding customer needs, resolving customer queries, etc. Learners are also taught to use customer service management software.
  • Business Intelligence :
    The module covers technology applications that support branch banking and new-age banking operations (e.g. ATMs, mobile banking & internet banking), and customer relationship management tools.
  • Core Banking Software :
    This module provides learners a thorough understanding of the various banking processes such as; opening, closing, activation, deactivation of customer accounts; cash deposit and withdrawal transactions; the process of transfer transactions; generation of reports, etc. The module also provides a detailed processes study of the use of Finacle to operate these processes.
  • Management of Banks :
    This module discusses concepts of banking that are essential to maintaining the financial health of a bank and improving its performance in a competitive environment.

The TimesPro Admission Process (TAP) test is divided into two sections.

  • General aptitude section
  • Psychometric evaluation section

The General aptitude section tests the aspirant on his/her analytical, quantitative and verbal ability. The Psychometric evaluation section analyzes the behavioral traits of the aspirant. The total time available for the test is 90 minutes and the total score for the test is 90 marks. Each question carries a weightage of one mark and there is no negative marking for incorrect or unanswered questions.
,br> The General aptitude section comprises 60 questions for 60 marks. It will be divided into five sections comprising analytical ability, verbal reasoning, logical reasoning, general awareness and quantitative ability. There is a total of 60 minutes for the test-taker to attempt this section.

The Psychometric evaluation section has 30 questions. Candidates will have 30 minutes to attempt the entire section.

All students attempting the TAP test will be eligible for the personal interview process at TimesPro.

Test Registration Process

  • An aspirant applying for the program needs to fill up the Online Admission form with requisite details and INR 500 as registration fee. He/she can choose to fill the form at any of the TimesPro learning centres across the country
  • After fee payment, an expert from TimesPro learning centre will get in touch with you to schedule the date and time of the test
  • Based on his/her selection, an Admit Card with relevant details will be mailed to the applicant at the specified email address

Scheduling of TimesPro Admission Process Test

  • The test will be conducted a minimum of twice a week on pre-scheduled dates
  • Applicants can schedule the date and time of the TAP test based on available slots
  • Based on the preferred time and date, applicants will be allocated a slot for the TAP test
  • An admit card will be mailed to the applicant with all relevant information through email and snail mail

  • Candidates' age should be less than 26 years
  • Candidate must have completed their graduation
  • Candidates' should have completed their graduation without any drops/gaps in years.
  • Candidates' aggregate graduation score should be 50% and above

TimesPro Admission Process (TAP) Test

Aspirants enrolling for the TimesPro PGDBM program have to mandatorily clear the TAP test.

If an aspirant is unsure of clearing the TAP test, he/she can appear for the practice test that is available on our website to get a sense of the difficulty level and re-training needs. The practice test can be taken several times. Once the applicant passes the practice test he/she can appear for the TAP test.

The application form for the TAP test can be purchased from any of the TimesPro learning centres. Filled-up application forms can be submitted at any of the learning centres. Aspirants appearing for the TAP test have to pay an application fee of INR 500 (Rupees Five hundred only) in cash or through credit/debit card, cheque or demand draft. The cheque/DD should be in favor of “Times Centre for Learning” payable at the preferred city location as chosen on the application form.


Centres

Candidates should appear for the computer-based TAP test at the designated centres. For convenience, the TAP test centres are located in all major cities across India.


Personal Interview

Candidates who clear the TAP test are invited for personal interviews.


Enrolment Process

Candidates who are selected in the personal interview are eligible to enroll for the TimesPro PGDBM program. The total score of the candidate (TAP test + personal interview) will be valid for 1 year. Candidates will be allowed a maximum of three attempts for the TAP test.


Documents at the time of enrolment

Candidates should carry the following photocopies at the time of application and the original documents at the time of interview :

  • Photocopies of Class X, XII, graduation mark sheets (all semesters)
  • Proof of date of birth (copy of Class X certificate / PAN card / passport / voter card / driving license)

Modes of Payment

  • Payment by cash / cheque / DD / credit card
  • Loan facility available
  • 0% interest on payment made in instalments
The cheque / DD should be in favor of “Times Centre for Learning” payable at the preferred city location as chosen on the application form.
